Questions
What is Long Drive Club?
A members' club for car people who golf. The road there and the round at the end, treated as one day, not two. Performance cars and golf, the same instinct served twice.
Who is it for?
The person who leaves earlier than the round requires. Who takes the long way for no reason anyone else would understand, with the clubs already in the boot. The car comes first. Golf is the shared ground.
Is it a single event, or does it keep going?
A members' club, not a one off. Three drives a year. This is the first. Take a place and you stay on the list for the ones that follow.
When and where is the first drive?
September 2026, in the UK. The location is revealed to confirmed guests.
How do you apply?
By application, through the form on longdriveclub.com. There are 20 places. A committee reads every application and selects on what you love and how seriously you take it, not on background.
What happens after you apply?
We read every one. A committee decides. If it's a yes, a password lands by email that opens the rest of the day and the place to hold. If it's a not yet, we say so and keep you on the list. We only write if it's one or the other.
How many places are there?
20. A place reserved is held for 48 hours, then it goes to the next name on the list.
What does it cost?
One price for the whole day, the drive, the round and what's laid on around them. You see the number if you're offered a place.
What happens on the day?
A drive worth the long way round, then 18 holes at the course at the end of it. The drive and the round are one day, not two.
Is food included?
Breakfast from 06:30, when you arrive. Lunch once you're back in from the round. Both are in the price.
What kind of car do I need?
No single answer. An M2 beside a GT3 beside a 30 year old classic somebody still drives properly. The car matters because you care about it, not because of what it is.
Can I bring someone?
Everyone in the car is a player. Each person applies, each takes one of the 20 places. The passenger is not a plus one, they are a member in their own right.
Do I need to be a good golfer?
No. The golf is real, 18 holes on a course worth the journey, but it is the shared ground, not a test. The car came first.
